COFFEE DATE / 01

Monday, November 4, 2013

I recently started following Allison Lehman @ Be Up & Doing and she has this new series titled, "let's get coffee." The intent is to get to know her readers better, so she poses a few random, light-hearted questions that readers can respond to in the comment section.

Essentially, it's a virtual coffee date.

I read that and thought, "why didn't I think of that? I love it — it's perfect for my blog." I do love it and it is perfect. Coffee is kind of a big deal around here at Coffee & Honeycomb. It's more than a brewed beverage, it's near and dear to my heart — which I discuss here earlier in this post

Coffee dates have been good to me, and so I wanted to bring it here with you. I promise I make a great coffee date. Would you join me?

How it works: Answer any (or all) of the questions in the comment section below.

THIS WEEK'S QUESTIONS:
1. Since this is a coffee date and all, what's your typical drink order?
2. Are there any TV shows you're hooked on right now?
3. What are you most looking forward to this fall season?
4. Do you have a blog? Post the link, I'd love to follow you.

MY ANSWERS:
1. My drink order changes frequently, but right now I'm trying to stay away from carbs so I would order a grande sugar-free breve latte. (It's not that gross, I promise!)
2. Right now I'm watching: Grey's Anatomy, Rules of Engagement, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, Vampire Diaries, and The Office re-runs. (I know, I watch a lot of television. Do you watch any of these? If so, let's talk.)
3. Not gonna lie, I'm looking forward to thanksgiving break. I'm gonna sleep in everyday. But I also enjoy quality time with friends and family, fall tradition, and Starbucks red cups.
4. If you're not following me, you can do so here @ bloglovin

That was fun. :) Looking forward to hearing your responses. I can't wait!

XO.

      1. Chai tea is DELICIOUS. Have you ever tried a chocolate chai latte? If you're into sweets, you might fall in love...
      2. AH! YOU WATCH THOSE SHOWS?! I knew I liked you for a reason. ;) I've seen a few episodes of "30 Rock" because it's on Netflix but I definitely don't watch it consistently. Maybe I should start...

You should steal this idea. In fact, one day we should host it together. :)

I had watched season 1&2 when it came out, stopped watching, and then re-started this week since it was on Netflix. Um, is Lila Garrety beautiful OR IS SHE BEAUTIFUL? 4. Love this post! It's so fun to get to know other bloggers through these kinds of question/answer posts and find out similarities and unique qualities amongst all of us.

    So here goes:
    1. I actually don't drink coffee, but I'm a huge fan of warm apple cider right now!

    2. I looove Parenthood, Bones, Modern Family, Hawaii Five-0 and Duck Dynasty. I too, watch a lot of TV. But it's my end of the evening de-stresser so at least it has a somewhat redeeming value!

    3. I love everything about fall. I love the fall colors, the crisp air, the clothes (sweaters, tights scarves, and boots, just to name a few), and the baking/holiday season. Yeah, pretty much everything.

    4. Yep, I have a blog! And I think you've heard of it, too. :)

    1. :) Yeah, I had a lot of fun! I'm going to try to do this frequently.

      1. Oo, I feel like I can do anything with a steamy mug of apple cider or hazelnut hot chocolate.
      2. I've never, ever seen Parenthood and Bones — but both are on Netflix so I'll probably start a marathon on those over break. And I totally agree... it's the best to just unwind your day with someone else's life. ;)

      4. I have heard of it. And I'm kind-of-sort-of-severely addicted to it. Anyone who does not know it is doing life all wrong.

      XO-
Hope your season is filled with crisp air, sweaters, and baking.

  5. I just found your link through Kiki's blog, this is so fun!!

First) don't hate me for hating coffee. I can't stand the stuff. Chai, however, is a different story

Second) I'm also obseeessed with Grey's and TVD! although I almost boycotted when they killed mark sloan, after like a million seasons i'm just way too invested haha. and TVD i mean..its just so good.Have you seen The Originals? I thought I would hate it but its equally as great. I'm right there with Kiki and parenthood, its amazing. that show makes me cry every episode you should deeefinitely marathon it! Also Scandal, Revenge, and Betrayal because they are amazing. and also I just realized I watch an obscene amount of TV haha, yikes.

Thirdly) Fall. I don't like the idea of it because it means winter is coming, boo. But I dooo love all the food it brings with it, the warm hats, and the toasty fireplaces!

and lastly) you can find my blog at www.shelbysmouth.blogspot.com I would love to follow you back:)!

    1. Hi Shelby! Thanks for joining me. :)

      1. Hahahah it's okay — I enjoy my chai. too. Mm.
      2. Thanks for all the show recommendations! I saw the commercials for The Originals but haven't checked it out, but one of my friends also said really good things about it. I'll start it this week and let you know what I think! And I used to dabble in Scandal and Revenge but kind of stopped... I'll have to start Betrayal and Parenthood, though. (By the way, what's with all the one word shows: scandal, revenge, betrayal.) Hmmm. Just saying! hahaha.

And yay thanks for linking. Looking forward to checking your blog out!

Hope you're having a wonderful fall season. :)

  6. Love this post! I just came across your blog this afternoon, and I am getting so inspired for some blog content changes in the new year!

    1. Coffee dates are one of my favourite things to do! So I like to start off with a mug of cappuccino, and finish with a small latte. I don't do flavoured or decaf coffee!
    2. Lately I've been re-watching the original Beverly Hills 90210. I'm currently up to season 4 and loving it all over again. I watched it as a kid but never really understood it.
    3. In Australia we don't call it fall, and we're in a different season. But I sure am looking forward to the landslide of fall posts from all of my favourite blogs. They distract me from the heat here!
    4. I blog over at www.tasteslikelove.blogspot.com

      2. 90210! I've heard that show is really popular but I've never gotten into it. :)

      3. AUSTRALIA!!!! That's so cool.

      4. I'll have to check it out. Thanks :)

  7. Oh this is so much fun! I think I may just have to start it up on my blog soon! but here we go...
one // my drink of choice is a soy chai tea latte or just plain old regular black coffee because i am lactose intolerant and because of that vegan now and for the black coffee i don't like tainting that actual flavor of the coffee since they all taste so different i like to enjoy that actual taste of the coffee.
two // i have fallen in absolute love with new girl on fox, homeland and when its the season i watch so you think you can dance but other than that my husband hogs the tv and we watch sports center and football
three // fall means a cool reprieve from the hot southwestern heat and the change of leaf color... oh and cooler temperature for hiking!
four // come over and visit my blog please!! I at www.melandbrent.blogspot.com
    blessings, Melissa

    1. You should! I'll join. :) It's been really fun getting to know other bloggers.

      1. Soy chai! Love, love, love that. And bah, I'm trying to get into black coffee because my drink orders are usually way too sweet but I'm still like a kid when it comes to coffee haha. Do you like Intelligentsia? That's a coffee I can drink plain. :)
      2. New Girl!! My boyfriend is obsessed with that show. Do you watch The Mindy Project? I like that one a bit more but it's really similar — quirky, light hearted, funny.

About to check out your blog now. :) Thanks so much for joining me and I hope your fall season is filled with loved ones and delicious food. :)

    1. Any kind of tea, I'm a big fan of tea over coffee. All though there was this one time that I had the best coffee ever while I was in South Dakoto.

    2. Downton Abbey! Waiting for season 4...

    3. Thanksgiving in Fresno! Spending 5 fun filled days with family!
